CONFIDENTAILITY, PRIVACY and SECURITY

IIST shall ensure confidentiality of all information submitted by the citizens in order to perform ePayment as part of requests made for availing services or utilising facilities of IIST. 

IIST shall ensure that there are proper encryption and security measures at epay.iist.ac.in and its web portals to prevent any hacking into the information of citizens and other bank account / card account data. 

IIST shall not at any time require the citizen to provide it with any details of the bank account or card accounts held by them, including passwords, PIN etc which may be assigned to them by the bank or card-issuer from time to time.

IIST shall respect and protect the privacy of individual citizens that access information and use the services provided by IIST through its web applications. Individually identifiable information of the citizen shall not be willfully disclosed to any third party by IIST without first receiving the citizen’s permission.

IIST may, however may disclose personal or confidential information about a citizen if required to do so under the following circumstances:

i. in order to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, statute, or court order as required by any court or other governmental body or as otherwise required by law;

ii. in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the security or integrity of the transaction or the process, or the protection of legal rights of an affected third party.

IIST shall ensure that it is acting in compliance with and shall at all time act in compliance with all laws, rules and regulations and shall at all times comply with the guidelines set by Reserve Bank of India and other statutory bodies regarding confidentiality and privacy of ePayment transactions.
